Assorted Studio is a UK based architectural design and research studio. It embodies a sensitive approach to design within the disciplines it occupies, predominantly within the fields of architecture and the arts.
Material investigation at a range of scales, carried out through model making and prototyping all play a key role in the studio’s ability to interact with the natural and built environments as well as interventions that may sit somewhere in between.
The process of collaboration sits at the heart of the studio’s ethos whether working alongside individuals or organisations, craftspeople or manufacturers and accompanies a wider attitude towards designing responsibly with person and place in mind.
An understanding of traditional methods of construction and vernacular heritage continue to be a key driver in working with older buildings, nodding to the incorporation of new technologies and processes where appropriate.
A symbiotic process of exploration is naturally at play with research, live commissions and collaborations coming together to inform each other socially, culturally and otherwise.
Assorted Studio is based between London and the Cotswolds and was established in 2018 by Alaric Campbell-Garratt.
